    Hello

We are trying to update one our website http://www.bioedge.org from EE 1.6.8 to EE 2.2.2, Admin is working properly, but the frontpage http://www.bioedge.org/index.php is showing following error:-

    Error

Unable to load requested field type file: ft.wysiwyg.php.

Confirm the fieldtype file is located in the expressionengine/third_party/ directory

But, there are no files inside expressionengine/third_party/ directory which we downloaded from EE site. Pls, help me soon to fix this site.

    Regards

    Hello Debasish,

You are missing the Field Type as described in the error. You must have had that Field Type installed under ExpressionEngine 1. You’ll need to see if the developer has updated it to be compatible with ExpressionEngine 2. Once you’ve aquired the correct Field Type, you will need to upload it to /system/expressionengine/third_party and activate it via the Control Panel by navigating to Add-ons-> Fieldtypes.

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan,

Thank you very much. The EE1 has LG Tiny MCE installed and it has no compatible update of EE2, but I found NSM TinyMce.1.1.0, which I want to replace with LG Tiny MCE of EE1. How can its possible to update/replace an EE1 extension with EE2 compatible plugins/extensions?

    Regards

    Hi Debasish,

In general, you should only have to install the EE2-compatible add-ons in order for them to work in your EE2 installation. That said, it’s not a bad idea to check in with the developer of the particular add-on in question and see what they have to suggest in case their add-on requires a special upgrade. Here’s the link to NSM’s user guide for TinyMCE.
