As far as I can tell, EE doesn’t have a couple editorial bits I’m looking for. We have editors which review content and publish it. We also have authors which can only create (but not publish) content and make changes to it.
The things we need are
* Editors receive email when authors create new content or update it.
* Editors can leave notes for the content.
I’ve found the NSM Publish Plus Workflow, not really what I need but some of its code might come in handy.
The module I want should be pretty simple and I’ll start working on it if we can’t find anything already existing:
* New tab on the publish page for authors and editors that shows a history of editorial comments. Includes a form to create new comments. Email is generated when a comment is added and sent to the author and editors.
* Editors are emailed when new content is created.
