    I have the EE v2.2.1 - Build: date 20110705 and MSM v2.1.0 Build: 20110622

If I switch to site two, I can create a member group and assign preferences and submit – but then EE switches the site the group is assigned to to site one.

Under the template editing tab for group assignment I get the following PHP error:

    A PHP Error was encountered
    Severity: Notice

    Message: Undefined index: options

    Filename: members/edit_member_group.php

    Line Number: 136

    A PHP Error was encountered
    Severity: Notice

    Message: Undefined index: options

    Filename: members/edit_member_group.php

    Line Number: 137

For weeks now, with very limited time to develop a new site, all I seem to be doing is tackling MSM + EE2 problems.

    Hi Embody_Bruce,

Sorry about the frustration you’re having. This one’s a simple fix, though. That looks like this bug, which was fixed in the most recent release. So the solution here would be to simply upgrade to EE 2.2.2, and you’ll be good to go!

I’ve downloaded the 2.2.2 upgrade and am at the “Run The Update Wizard” stage which is taking me through the steps to create a brand new site, not the update steps I was expecting. What is happening there? I don’t want to overwrite the existing site. Don’t think updating in the past said it was creating a new site.

This hasn’t fixed the problem. I still can’t create a member group on the second site.

    Hi, Embody_Bruce -

When you go to create a member group, are you selecting the correct site in the drop-down in the member group nav (as opposed to the top right of the CP)?

And are you still seeing a PHP error after upgrading to 2.2.2?  Or are you still stalled in the update process?

    Thanks!

    Hi LIsa

I’m not stalled on the update now but 2.2.2 has some fresh issues, for example, new CP tabs don’t work properly. They work for the window you had open that you created them in, but if you open a new window, the tab is there, but when you click it, it takes you to the site’s homepage. Anyway ...

I do create groups the way you describe using the drop-down. On saving, that drop-down always reverts to the first site. However, I’m not getting the PHP warning and effectively I can assign a member to the group and they can log-in etc. So, functionality wise, this is effectively working.

Yes, that drop-down isn’t sticky at this point.  I’ll send some feedback to our dev team about making it so.

I’m not quite following the CP tab issue; my recommendation would be to post a more detailed explanation (and possibly screenshots) in a new thread so we can follow up there.

On the MSM issue, though, you are all set?

    Thank you!
