Got a very strange problem... is it EE?

    Hi guys and girls,

    Just in the process of putting together a site, I have done loads of EE sites and never had this happen before.

    I put the site together offline and did the cross browser testing everything works fine. I started embedding in to EE and the site looks great on Safari, Chrome & FireFox however IE doesn’t seem to be able to find the stylesheet.

    Click here to see the site.

    If any one has any idea’s please let me know. I have checked and validated my code.
    Stylesheet code:

    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{stylesheet=site/webfonts}" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="{stylesheet=site/styles}" />

    Cheers Steve

    Really???

    This is confusing… I have tried on Windows XP IE 8 and I do not see any styling. My client is also experiencing the same issue, where no styling is is being rendered.

    Could you show me a screenshot of how it looks on your IE 7 please.

    Thanks

    Steve,

    I can see the issue in IE. Now it’s not the case of the stylesheets not loading whatsoever as some rules are loading.

    I would run your CSS through a validator. All it takes is one syntax error to throw IE in most cases while other browsers are a bit more lenient.

    Hi John,

    The issue seems confined to IE7 & IE8 as I’ve just tested IE9 and all is fine.

    Here is a real puzzler, I have uploaded the all the files that where built offline on to the server and changed the code so it uses the same images, etc as the EE embedded version. The EE embedded version is identical code wise, other than having EE tags.

    Non EE: http://www.rock-networks.co.uk/html/index.html

    Embedded EE: http://www.rock-networks.co.uk/build.php

    Now on Safari, FireFox, Opera, Chrome & IE9 - both pages display perfectly.
    But on IE7 & IE8 the one not in EE display’s perfectly and the one that is embedded doesn’t display.

    Any idea’s??? This is really doing my head in.

    I think my EE might be broken. Every time I try and go to template manager i get the following:

    An Error Was Encountered

    The name you submitted may only contain alpha-numeric characters, underscores, and dashes styles copy

    Would a re-install fix this?

    Decided to upgrade to v2.2.2 - hopefully a fresh install will fix both problems.

    I’ll keep you updated.
