I just recently set up a local version of the EE site I administrate, and have managed to get all of it working (database, home page, CP, etc) except that none of the pages I migrated from the live site (except the main index page) work.  Everything on the home page works fine, but the same paths that lead to different pages on the live site (http://www.domain.com/pageone, http://www.domain.com/pagetwo) are all dead, even though the content is still there in the CP.

Thanks for any help in figuring this out—I’ve been working on it all day to no avail.

Was there an .htaccess file on the other server that did not get migrated?

YES!

The Mac I’m working on had files with the “.” prefix hidden, so apparently when I copied the files, the .htaccess didn’t get copied.

YOU ARE AMAZING and if there were a rating system on here, you would have 5 stars or whatever the highest rating is.  I’ve been stagnating here trying to figure out the problem.  Thank you!
