We are running EE 1.7.1 and the Discussion Forum module 2.2.2.  Every time someone tries to do a search… this error shows on the page as well as in each of the page/entry links.
    ??

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/*****/public_html/*****/core/core.functions.php on line 2659

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #2 is not an array in /home/*****/public_html/*****/core/core.functions.php on line 2659

I have replaced all the forum module files… but to no avail.
    Any other tips?

    This is very urgent.
    Thank you.

    Hi otto,

/core/core.functions.php is part of ExpressionEngine proper. Could you try uploading a fresh copy of ExpressionEngine? You should follow the Update Directions.  That error leads me to believe that some corruption may be present in core.functions.php

Did it again.  Had done it before… still getting the same error.

    frustrating.
Probably just a typo somewhere… or a file permission… always something simple… but ... frustrating.

    Hi otto,

I followed the link you supplied and performed a search for “weight”. It returned 2 results without throwing any errors.

I think only Admin sees the error and same happens for me too.

    otto,

Are you using the default theme or have you a customized version?
If so can you test with the default theme

    Still happening.
Doesn’t seem to happen when logged out.
    ???
So… when logged in… EE seems to feel it HAS to try and find something.. and it can’t… so it gets an error.
Log out and try the same search and EE says there isn’t anything… but it CAN find stuff that exists.
    Go figure.
    Bug?

    Hi otto,

Have you updated versions at all or still on 1.7.1?

    Cheers,

Still on 1.7.1.  No desire to attempt updating to 2.x since there’s a photo gallery involved and no time ($) to spend on the updating of the code. So… sticking with 1.7.1.

FYI: Forum is pretty much default except for different logo and <div> tag wrap to give it a width rather than let it bleed to the edges.

    Hey otto,

No need to explain the Photo Gallery!

FYI: Forum is pretty much default except for different logo and <div> tag wrap to give it a width rather than let it bleed to the edges.

    This raises 2 ?s:
    1) What version of Forums are you running?

    2) Are you running Forums through EE templates, or have you modified the stock themes?

With 1.7.1, you should be running Forums 2.2.1

    Cheers,

    Hi,

We are experiencing the same exact issue. 1.7.2 with Forums 2.2.1.
Also, on the Search pages we are not seeing the parts where you could do a “thread search”. I think the two might be related.

    Thanks!

    Hi dombi,

Can you share a link to your forums so I can see first hand?

Also, make sure you are using your domain name consistently. Example:

    <a href="http://www.example.com">http://www.example.com</a>

    and

    example.com

Are not the same, and if one is set in the Control Panel and the site is accessed with the other, it can have an effect on searching.

    The site address is: http://beszeljukmac.com/index.php/forums/

Of course you won’t see the error messages, since they are only visible to the admins. But the same exact message comes up on our search results page.

As far as I know it, we are trying to be pretty constant with our site links, using it without the “www” part.

Indeed! Would we be able to login for a look? Be on the lookout for an email from EllisLab.
