    EE Version: 2.2.0

So I’m trying to create an include template that will have a link to some javascript for IE7 detection since I’m not designing my clients current site to work with that browser.

Here’s the code for the include I’m trying to make:

Sorry.. forum is screwing with the formatting of my code below..

    <!--[if lte IE 7]>[removed][removed][removed]window.onload=function(){e("js/ie/")}[removed]<![endif]-->

So I’m going to new template > web page > create and edit > update and finished

Right after hitting update and finished I get a 404 every time.

Additionally I tried to create a javascript template recently for jQuery 1.3.2 pasted in the code then hit update and got a 404 also.

I really need to be able to implement this javascript stuff so if anyone knows how to prevent me from getting these 404s that would be great.

    Thanks,

    -Jeff

    Hi, Jeff -

Is this a problem only with JS type template? Only certain code?

For instance, if you put in “hello world” int your template, does that save properly?

If so, I am thinking there may be a mod_security issue going on here, which would be something to follow up with your host.

    Hi Lisa,

This seems to be a problem mostly with the JS type template.  The code from my first post triggers a 404 whether I’m creating a JS template or a webpage.

It seems like certain javascript files will trigger a 404 and others won’t when trying to save them as a JS template.  Particularly I’m noticing pasting in different versions of jQuery like 1.3.2 or 1.4.4 into a JS template will trigger the 404 when I try to update & finish.

If I echo “hello world” with php enabled it does save it properly whether I choose JS or webpage template type.

Ok so it did end up being mod_security, called my host and he viewed the Apache error logs as I triggered another 404.

Its all sorted out now, thanks for you help Lisa.
