I recently read on the official EE blog that licenses only had to be purchased for an update before the decimal point, e.g EE 2.2 to EE 3.0.

Seeing as how I purchased an EE1 license and it expired within a year, will my license be made active again due to this change?

    Per our fearless leader:
The intent is to be fully retroactive in terms of access to the support forums but the new upgrade policy would apply only to those already on EE2 or with an active EE1 download account. If the current download account is expired, one last renewal or upgrade to EE2 will be required to get on the new policy.

That seems fair to us, especially to those who have kept their EE1 download accounts active. I am going to review it with our team today. We’ll have a separate post up with a faq that clarifies some of the questions people have been asking. Sorry for any confusion.

I would give us a few days and we may have an official statement on this.
