Hi, I’m hoping this can be done.

We’re building a site that will become a community for people who have purchased a particular product. The retailer uses an EPOS till system that will output customer details that have been collected at the point of sale (in CSV format). The CSV file will be SFTP’d every hour to our server from where hopefully we can cycle through that data to automatically register users on our EE site. So by the time they get home, they will have received an email with their username, perhaps a randomly generated password and details of how/where to log on.

Can anyone give me a steer on if/how this could be achieved?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

There is a Member Import Tool but it is manually done. And you need to provide a password for the members.

I can move this to the Community Help forum and other members may chime in with some other ideas if they have done similar?

    Hi John,

This looks like the answer, but yes, we would really be looking to run this automatically. If you can move the post to a ‘How to’ section that would be great!

    Cheers,
    Andrew
