EE 2.1.3 Entries Not Saving/Publishing

Hi all, we are in the process of setting up a new site using EE 2.1.3 and something curious happened today. In the midst of template editing, entry editing, and the like suddenly all entries will no longer save and we can no longer publish new entries. When you go to save an entry, the page refreshes, but never leaves the edit page (failing to display the confirmation page). The new data shows in the fields, but when you go back to the Edit main page and go back in to the entry, none of the data is retained (e.g. it is not actually processing the save).

We are using the 3rd party add-ons we’ve used on countless other sites, WYGWAM, Structure, Matrix, and Better Meta. So we’ve looked into what we could, but are frankly stumped. Has anyone heard of anything like this? There didn’t seem to be much in the forums related to this kind of issue. I saw something related to an EE 1.x - 2.x upgrade issue, but this was a fresh install of EE 2.1.3.

Thanks for your time and hope we can get this figured out!

    openmotive,

Can you create a new Channel and then Custom field group and only add a textarea or a simple text input.
Now see if an entry in this channel saves for you.

If not then disable your extensions temporarily and try to save the entry again.

We would also recommend and upgrade to EE2.2.1 at some stage

I have the same version and experiencing the same issue.
With the difference it was working just fine (since install 3 month ago) until I created a new channel and custom fields.
I also turned gzip output on, no idea if that has anything to do with it. I turned gzip off again.
Ahhh and I did change the theme from default to corporate (cp theme) just to see what it looks like. I swapped it back. That’s the only other thing i did since it stopped saving entries for me ...
I will hope a painful update is going to solve this issue. I don’t count on it ...

Following up in case somebody else has this issue, this could be one reason:

I restored a working backup and tried to redo all I did until it stopped saving my entries.

It turns out I changed the path info under:

    Admin > General Configuration:

    - URL to the root directory of your site:

    I changed it from http://www.pixelgrinch.com/ to /

at this point the entries didn’t update/save anymore. Everything else still seemed to work fine.
