I am currently using Google+ as well, so far it’s looking good. Great performance and it seems to have quite a bit of flexibility. Although I will wait for further development before using this instead of Facebook.

I’ll admit I didn’t spend hours with it - but until there’s equivalent to a twitter hashtag I didn’t find it useful. Plus I’m just in social media overload and looking to focus. LinkedIn and Facebook are gone. Down to just twitter and a couple of forums now.
It irritates the crap out of me that I have to be “invited.” It’s already like the “cool kids” and the “uncool kids,” which is just irksome; for freak’s sake, we are all already using Seesmic, etc., to keep up with the neverending “social media” flow, and now Goog wants to make it “clique-ier,” for lack of a better word? Sheesh. Having had a variety of Goog tools, accounts, etc., practically since Dinos roamed the earth, it’s just pissing me off.
P.S.—Boyink, dude, is there anything in your EE 2.0 book that will tell me what the hell I can do with all my older archival posts on my originally-built-on-your-toots now-on-2.x converted-with-the-help-of-your-book website? As soon as I go back a few months, it’s like they drop off the face of my wee web planet.

I’m still waiting to get into G+...one day!

I’m kind of glad I found this thread a few months later, when all the hype about Google+ is all but gone. I got an invitation early from a few industry friends involved in SEO and was lucky to get an early peek at it. Found the concept quite interesting and promising, but I’m just beginning to find that managing my social profiles are becoming a chore rather than being a natural extension of myself online.
I can’t really comment if Google came into the game too late or not, but I definitely feel that the wealth of social networks available for niche interests and broad and general networking have made the luster of + erode with me.
The integration works quite well online. I think Google is slowly becoming a valuable lifestyle brand, but to this day, I only frequent Google-branded products (sites) when I need to view my email or to research something. Otherwise, I seldom find time exploring the service because there asides from their artwork changes in their logos once in a while, Google as a personality is very mild.. As a long time Google user and a person whose also owned several Android phones, I can actually say that with confidence (to the surprise of myself).

I’ve made a concerted effort to not use any of the social networking stuff for ANYTHING not work related. No friends, family etc.
Never had a myspace page, never used my facebook page and I think i’ve got a total of 12 tweets.
I had to make the effort, it’s not like i think I’m cool. I just couldn’t afford risking getting hooked on another time wasting task.
I looked at Google+ early, but never used it.

It’s still not available to paying customers of Google Apps. I think Google has really dropped the ball on quite a few things lately. Chrome is still a mess on Mac OS Lion (crashes, issues, etc). Not sure what’s happening at Google 😊
