Facebook isn’t going anywhere. That’s like saying Google is going away. Or microsoft.

i didnt said it would die so soon… what i say is that one day you are at the top, then on the other day someone else is and you become history, with lots of ghost users and everyone saying how the new one is cool and you are not…

I didn’t say you said it would go away “soon”. You quoted me, so I assume you read what I wrote. What I said is that Facebook isn’t going away. I’m indifferent, I don’t care if it dies off or doesn’t, but experience tells me it’s here to stay.

50 years??? i bet the change from trend to hate wont take much longer than 5… do you still use altavista as a search engine? or maybe chat on icq? (yeah, i know, icq was better than msn, but it went from loved to hated…)

Did you ever seriously use Altavista? If so, I’m sorry. And ICQ? When were _either_ of those as big as Facebook is now? And even more importantly, how are either of those even remotely related to Facebook?

I repeat, I’m indifferent… I don’t care if Facebook fades out or thrives. I agree that some things are just temporary fads that will go away, but Facebook is going strong & doesn’t have any end in sight.

5 years is all you think it’ll take? What grounds exactly allowed you to come up with that figure?

I seriously USED altavista and ICQ… altavista was top dog on search engines, icq was top dog on IMs… facebook is now top dog at social network… got the idea now?

So… your reasoning is that since some big names have fallen behind, ALL big names will fall behind?

What makes you think within only FIVE years?

I dont say ALL big names will fall, but 95 to 99% will… and Facebook are one of those that will. Internet top dogs have a shorter lifespan than external top dogs as the net is lower due to the agility of new products… but learn that… trends come and go, and unless you become a classic (what facebook wont) you are fated to be eaten by new ones.

So not ALL, just 99%........ 😉

I’m still waiting to hear your grounds for believing that Facebook is toast within 5 years time.

Do this way: buy Facebook stock options for 5 years and save it… I bet twice the ammount invested that you will see your options becoming dust… If you accept the bet just message me in private and i will pass my data so we can keep in touch.

Oh okay, so in other words, you have ZERO grounds/reason to actually believe Facebook is actually going to be gone in 5 years… gotcha.

Your outlook on life is saddening… what if YOU become a big name? Would you still believe that 99% fail? If that’s the case, what’s the point of even trying, KNOWING that you’ll fail?

I certainly hope your pessimistic attitude changes, for your sake.

Well, you are wrong again… Everything rise and fall… the point is not to become the best and staying there forever, this will not happen. the point is to play the game, and knowing how the world goes round will help you tune up your decisions to get the best you can. dream as you wish, my bet offer is still on… if you really believe in your ideas maybe you should take this easy one…

You mean your bet where you expect me to invest in a PRIVATE COMPANY (as in, NOT publicly traded)? You are saying Facebook is going to fail within an incredibly short timeframe, without knowing *anything* about it, even the fact that it’s not public.

I’m all done here, you’ve proven your stupidity.
