Files with random filenames being created

Hi,

I’m using EE2 on a Windows Server, and each time I use the File Upload feature to upload a new file, the file seems to upload fine, but a separate file is created with a random filename and no file extension (in the same folder). This also happens when I save templates as text files.

Examples of filenames that are created:

cdd96eedd7f695f4d61802f8105ba2b0
cf866614b6b18cda13fe699a3a65661b

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums, Daniel.

Is this on a professionally managed server? I’d ask my server admin about it, Unix systems don’t have this issue.

Hi Sue,

Yes it is. I’ll ask my IT team if they know whats going on and let you know if I find a solution.
