    I’m working on a new spanish lang files and noticed some strange issues in File Manager.

    I can’t find the js file that opens that “Upload File” popup, but from what I see, maybe click function is attached to “title” attribute, so when a new title is there, he don’t work.

    This can be easy tested if you open system/language/english/filemanager_lang.php file and you put something else in this

    'upload_file' => 'Upload File',

    becomes

    'upload_file' => 'Something else',

    First I thought it could be for some missing translations but, this happens with original english word changed from default.
    This only happens in File Manager, when using Safecracker File in publish it is ok.

    thanx

    Hi, Davor. I changed the value to Stuff Upload File, and can’t replicate the problem you’re seeing. I was able to add a file successfully.

    Is this a new install, or was it originally 2.1.3?

    Hey Sue
    It’s clean 2.2.0 install.

    When I put “Stuff Upload File” it works also, but when I put words “Something else” it doesn’t, can you try with these exact words? It’s very strange 😊

    thank you

    I can confirm that on a brand new 2.2 install if I change the language file to the words Something else all that happens is that the File Manager page reloads / refreshes and the upload dialogue box doesn’t show. As soon as you change the words in the language file back to Upload File and refresh the File Manager page it all works again so definitely something a bit wonky going on here.

    From my limited testing it appears that you have to have the words Upload and File in there or it fails. They also both have to be in uppercase. If you try to put either of those words in lower case then it also fails. :-(

    Best wishes,

    Hey Mark
    It’s not a critical issue, but could result with problems if someone is using non-english translation.
    thank you for your time.

    No problem. Definitely something that needs looking at though in my opinion as changing a language file shouldn’t stop a function from working or at least in my eyes it shouldn’t.

    Best wishes,

    While it’s not yet been confirmed, this is a bug that’s been reported here. It seems that the JS used in that particular spot actually uses the English words “Upload File” as the trigger for that button. I’m going to close this one out since that bug report looks pretty conclusive.

    Thanks for bringing more light to this bug!
