I keep running into an issue on site where content containing characters like smart quotes, em dashes, and assorted accented characters pasted into a textarea field is not saved when the submit button is clicked.
I don’t mean the fancy characters aren’t retained, but everything I’ve pasted into the box completely disappears.
This is a site I have upgraded from 1.6.7 to 2.2.0.

Partly on a whim, and partly for necessity, I uploaded this site from a MAMP-based localhost install to a spare domain name and the issue seems to have resolved itself. I’m thinking the issue was more a localhost database issue than an ExpressionEngine / textarea / fancy character issue.
Let’s keep this thread open for a couple more days while I continue manually importing content.
