Hi Guys/Gals, It seems like I have a million questions these days. Does anyone know of a way in which you can have a user signup to become a member and be put in an “awaiting approval” group (probably status’), then once approved they can pay for their membership using Paypal or some other gateway. I’m struggling to figure out a way to process a payment after the user has been accepted by an administrator. If this isn’t possible, is it possible to do the registration and payment with simple commerce without the administrative approval process?

    Thanks again EE community.

    Hi Dodgson

I looked at similar workflows for a recent project and decided to use this plugin: http://www.membrr.com/

The first part of your process is simple enough with EE out of the box. (awaiting approval member group)

Since your site is offering paid membership, I would imagine that if someone paid to become a member, you would KNOW that the member was genuine. Asking people to await approval, and then pay makes me think you may lose out on the revenue/membership count?

    What do you think?

Hi Matt:P, Thanks for the recommendation. I’m going to purchase a copy today and test it out. In addition, I think you’re right in regards to the payment processing and possibly losing out on future memberships. I will definitely mention this to my client.

Thanks again for weighing in on this.
