    Hi,

I just installed a fresh install of EE 2.2.0.  I’m playing around with the new file manager, but cannot seem to upload images.  I’ve created the folder(s) on the server, given them write access and double-checked the server path to those directories.

Every time I try to upload or sync an image, I get the following error:

Thumbnail could not be created for the image. Please make sure the thumbnail directory is writable.

I re-ran the compatibility wizard and noticed that the web host I’m working with here doesn’t support GD or GD2 (which look like optional requirements).  Could this be the issue?

Any insight would be really helpful!

    Hi, Rolf -

That most certainly could be the issue. Is it possible to ask your host to enable those on your server?

Thanks Lisa.  I’ll see what the host can do.  If they can’t is there anyway around this?

    Hi, Rolf.

Unfortunately not. But the good news is that most of the time they’ll be able to resolve this for you. If not, there are hosts out there that do. Let us know what you find out. We’ll be here.

All is good.  The host installed GD and the file manager’s working like a charm.

    Thanks!
