I updated my site from 2.15 to 2.2 tonight. As far as I can tell, the update was successful. However, now I am unable to log in to the CP. Whenever I do, I get an error saying “You are only permitted to make four login attempts every 1 minute(s)”. I’ve tried resetting my password, to no avail. I had no such problems before updating.

I’m having the exact same problem + file upload preferences seems to have disappeared under content administration. I’m also having the same issue as in this thread. Custom publish lay-outs seems to so fragile also as I had to delete them again because the lay-out was completely messed up.

Emptying ‘exp_password_lockout’ did the trick for me. I can login again now.

Then the question is: why it happened, that i would like to know too mainly because i have client sites that wait upgrading.

I was able to login as a different user (also Super admin)... Had to change my username and email address, then it was OK.

Cannot login and my exp_password_lockout is already empty?
I don’t get any messages and/or errors!?
Edit: Clearing the browser cache solved the problem, cheers!

In looking at Jason’s database, clearing out his exp_password_lockout table did the trick for me. If you guys are having issues logging in, please give that a try + clearing cookies. If it does NOT work, holler back here, and we’ll get you squared away.

Clearing cookies alone worked for me.
