This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    Hello,

I am experiencing a similar issue to that posted on this thread.  I am using EE Version 2.1.3 Build 20110411.  SafeCracker does not appear in the modules, the link (http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/safecracker/) for downloading SafeCracker does not have a download button.  There is a “For EE” button. This links to (https://secure.expressionengine.com/download.php)“Downloads and Support | Expression Engine Store”.  A table of ‘Free Downloads’ includes 3 entries: ExpressionEngine 2.x Control Panel Themes; ExpressionEngine 2.0 Documentation; ExpressionEngine 1.7.1 Documentation.

Following the advice given for the previous post, I checked the installation directory “..ee_system/expressionengine/third_party”.  SafeCracker is not present there. I then located the installation archive, “ExpressionEngine2.1.3.zip”.  Similarly, a folder in this zip file “\system\expressionengine\third_party\” is empty except for index.html.

Can you tell me where I can locate the installation files?

    Hi mstryker,

Upgrading to EE 2.2 is recommended, as it includes SafeCracker built-in.

    Brandon,

Thanks for the response.  I’ll ask the person who purchased our EE license to obtain the SafeCracker 2.1.3 installation or EE 2.2 upgrade.

I think it would be helpful for EllisLab to indicate that certain content is restricted from EE downloads page by user.  Omitting links from the downloads page without any explanation leads end users to hunt around on the support forum for answers.

    Hey mstryker,

SafeCracker is included with your license purchase of EE 2, and since we added SafeCracker as a first-party add-on, it’s always been available for free on the downloads page for users with a purchased EE 2 license. Just like downloads for ExpressionEngine don’t show up until you purchase a license, the same is true for SafeCracker. Does that make sense?

    Hi Kevin,

What you have written is consistent with other information on the EE site, but it does not explain why EE 2.1.3, EE 2.2 and as you state, the SafeCracker 3rd party module for EE 2.1.3 are missing from the downloads page.  The only downloads I see are a themes download and two different versions of EE documentation.

I’m part of a team of site implementers.  One member has purchased multiple EE licenses and this member’s account has, as I gather from this thread, an updated download page with the EE installation download, modules etc…My account does not though there is some EllisLab record keeping that knows I’m eligible for technical support.  (I don’t recall what information was required when I registered as a user on this site.)  My frustration is that this business logic is not applied throughout the site.  It seems likely that you would have multiple clients that have more than just the individual who submitted the purchase working with EE.  As it currently functions, the downloads page is only of use to the individual who submitted the purchase order—the additional registered users associated with a particular account will not see any of the purchased software on the downloads page.  Judging from the previous post, I’m not the only one who has had to go through the process of figuring out why SafeCracker is missing whether as a no cost add-on in 2.1.3 or an included module in 2.2.  Discovering which download is needed is part of the issue; discovering why either the full upgrade or 2.1.3 module is omitted from the downloads page is the other.  My assumption is that one member of our team has access to these downloads.

    Hi, Mike,

This is correct - only the current license owner can download the software.

Does that clarify why you can’t see those downloads?
