    Hi Kevin

    I will upgrade and report-back.

In response to your other questions:

Does this behavior appear when extensions are enabled or disabled?

I disabled all extensions, created a new template and copied the login form tag from EE docs, but when I tried to login I also get the “invalid username or password” message. The user/pass is a correct admin account so I know it works.

I tried with and without the ‘index.php’ in the url, and I tried different browsers. Same message.

I’ll upgrade and see what happens.

    Thanks for your help.

    As a follow-up,

I CAN login in the back-end. with the same login details.

I have also tried creating a new user and loging in as them.

OK, that’s at least consistent with the same thing I experienced. But with extensions enabled and all else the same, I was able to login on the front-end. Is that behavior the same on your end?

No rush, just let me know once you’ve completed the upgrade.

Ok, feeling pretty silly now - I just worked out it was an extension (first timer). Thanks for your help folks!

Oh, very good to know which one was the culprit! So are we good to close this one up?

    Hey

Would you mind sharing which extension was causing this? I’m having the exact same problem.
