Hi,
After upgrading an EE 1.6 install with the discussion forum module to 2.1.3 and updating the discussion forum module to the newer required version, we seem to have lost all the custom discussion forum templates we created. While all the forum posts are there, none of the custom templates we created in the old discussion forum can be found.
We have a backup of the old site and the old DB. Any idea where I can find the custom discussion forum templates, or am I SOL?

Your forum themes in both EE1.x and EE2.x both live in themes/forum_themes/
EE2.x templates are set-up differently to EE1.x version so you will need to update these
Check out the version upgrade notes here. It mentions a standalone script utility on that page too to help you automate this
