I do not wish to use the feature that converts any web address or email to links. It is a hassle to have to adjust the setting with every channel and would prefer to not have it at all. Is there a way to disable it globally?  If not, is there a way to disable it for custom member fields?

Administration > Channel Management > Channel Preferences > Channel posting preferences

Just turn them off there for each of your Channels.

    VitaminIsGood,

Does Rob’s advice work for you? It is spot on

Thanks for the response. I am aware of the Channel Preference option, but there doesn’t seem to be away to control custom member fields. Think I am going to look into using query tags to get the fields value instead of a link.

I’m a little confused on what you’re trying to achieve here. Let us know if your solution works, if not, please clarify and we’ll do our best to help.

Yeah, so, I ended up going with the automatic links and created a work-around using CSS. I still think there should be an option to disable automatic links globally, not just per channel.

    Hi VitaminIsGood,

It doesn’t look like that’s a setting you can turn off in the Control Panel for custom member fields. It does sound useful though, so I’d recommend posting this as a Feature Request.
