    Folks:

I might be a little thick here but I’ve tried to set up MSM as instructed but when visiting site B, site A is shown at the site B domain.

I’m unclear on a few things in the MSM documentation (http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/sites/createsite.html). Specifically:

“Admin—> System Preferences” - Am I just really dumb or does this not exist in EE2? Is this actually supposed to be “Admin > General Configuration”? That’s where I’m making my changes anyway.
“Update the System Preferences to match the URL you will be using for the new Site.” - This seems pretty vague. There are four places where you can change the URL but only one of them makes intuitive sense. The four places:

URL to the root directory of your site - It makes sense to change this to http://siteb.com.
URL to your Control Panel index page - Shouldn’t this remain http://sitea.com? That’s where the CP is, no?
URL to your “themes” folder - There is no themes folder for siteB so I’m guessing this remains siteA.com.
Theme Folder Path - Again, there is no Themes folder for siteB so I’m guessing this remain siteA.com.

    A couple of other notes:

If I set the “Is site on” option to “no” siteB still shows siteA.
If I set the “Is system on?” option to “no” siteB shows offline but siteA still shows.

    Yes, MSM is on.
Yes, I am looking at the configuration for siteB in the CP.
Yes, I’ve create an index template for siteB.
Yes, I am logged out when I check the site and system.

Any help sorting this out would be appreciated.

    Hi porthos,

You’re correct about “System Preferences”, that should be “General Configuration” and this is fixed in the development version of the documentation.

Have you gone through the Setup Domains and Sub-domains documentation?

I did do this and now see my (stupid) mistake. I changed the site_name but forgot to uncomment the line.

    Sorry.

Not a problem, Stephen. We’ve also made that documentation more clear for the next release. Glad it’s working now!
