Sorry for such a simple question:

I am setting up permission for a member group to be able to upload and resize images.

This works easily as a superadmin logged in as “me, but the file manager / upload window has no options when I am logged in as a different memeber.

    Thanks.

I set up a new member group and turned ALL option to yes.
Still no options on the file manager upload window.

    Hi, Chris.

What you are experiencing is normal behavior. When you create a new member group, you need to specify that the group has access to each file upload area. Look at the File Upload Preferences for your file group, and allow that group access. See the attached screen shot.

    Does that help?

    Thanks for that

I’ve looked around the prefs and made a buch of changes.

Now my issue is that when I register new members I keep getting the error
“You are not authorized to perform this action”

    Done this about 4 times.

    Thoughts?

Are you attempting to add new members as a SuperAdmin, or some other member group?

    Hi Jacobmiso,

im trying to create a new group. With a new member.

What Sue means are you currently logged into the control panel as the original SuperAdmin or as another member account that you may have been testing the FileManager with?

    Thanks John

What I mean is that all is fine as a SuperAdmin.

To be clear, I have tried every approach - eliminated avery variable that I am aware. From basing a new test group on SA, to starting from scratch and turning every option on.

Whatever I do, I get the error ““You are not authorized to perform this action”

It’s been 6 days of this. We launched the site this afternoon.
I’d really appreciate if you could get me something to move forward with today.

    Thanks,
    c.

    Hi Jacobmiso,

I completely understand your frustration, however, we’re having a hard time trying to reproduce the problem ourselves because you’re not very clear in describing your problem and the steps one needs to take to get there. Sue and John are trying to clarify, but your responses so far are still fairly ambiguous. We definitely want to help you, but we’re not so good at the mind-reading. 😊

In order to help us help you, we need you to describe the exact problem you’re now having and the exact steps you’ve taken to get there. Be specific about the which member group you’re registering a new member into as well as the member group of the user you’re logged into while creating that new member. For example, are you logged in as a Super Admin when creating the new member?
