    v2.1.5, Build 20110510

    Current site is in development but cannot seem to paginate and locate the file. The file manager results seem to be repeating a section of results over and over again when using the pagination arrows.

    I know that the file module is not complete with this version, but would it be a bad idea to revert back to the stable version of this module?

    Hi, Bransin.

    How many items are in your folder? Did you import these via Synching? We’re heading for the home stretch for 2.2, would like to make sure things are working as they should.

    There are over 2600 items total. All items were uploaded using v2.1.3 - v2.1.4 file manager. I synced all the folders once we made the jump to v2.1.5. Now

    Folder #1 - 488 items
    Folder #2 - 1606 items
    Folder #3 - 397 items
    Folder #4 - 128 items

    Some files were not included because of mime types, etc when syncing.

    Showing 1 to 40 of 2603 entries

    After paging to entry 121. It loops all over again to the results I had on the first page.
    Showing 121 to 160 of 2603 entries.

    Items 121-160 are the same items I had 1-40. Hope that makes sense.

    Is it possible to switch back to the old file module that was working on v2.1.4? Or would this create much conflict?

    Hi Bransin,

    No, downgrading that single module isn’t possible. Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache? Does this occur in other browsers as well?

    I’ve tested it in Chrome and Firefox 3.6.17. I cleared the browser cache as well.

    Hey, Bransin.

    Can you send along a screen shot so I can see where this is happening? I have a dev domain I set up this morning to test with. I have to upload a few more images, since I top out at about 150.

    Bransin- Sue replicated, but currently I’m not.  If you open up system/ee/controllers/cp/content_files.php and at the top change:

    private $pipe_length     = 3;
    to
        private $pipe_length     = 1;

    That help at all?

    And if not, I’ll get w/Sue and do some testing on her install.

    Hi Robin,

    Changed the value of $pipe_length to 1. Every page now displays the results of the first page.

    That’s full of not making sense.  Hrm- neither Sue nor I am replicating now in the dev version.  Release is coming soon - can you hold off?  Or I can send over some new files to test out if it’s a time crunch- the tricky bit is a LOT has changed, so I can’t promise that replacing 2-3 files won’t run into problems due to dependencies.  But we can certainly give it a try if you need it asap.

    In a time crunch right now.

    If I backup those 2-3 files and switch to the new versions, would I still be able to revert back to the version I’m using currently if something were to go haywire?

    Yes, as long as you put them back when you’re finished. Just make sure to back up your database before attempting.

    As Sue notes- you’d just need to put the old files back in to revert any changes.  Just make sure you take notes when you do it and have a copy of the old files handy.

    I sent an email w/some files attached.  Hopefully just replacing the file_manager library the the controller will do it- otherwise it may be a bit complicated.

    Thanks a bunch guys. I’m going to give it a go and let you know the outcome.

    I appreciate you guys going at lengths at helping me out. Unfortunately it didn’t work. I uploaded all the latest files in the correct directories. Did this twice to make sure I got every file, and backed up the old ones.

    I resynced all the file upload directories which worked perfectly. I then navigated to the File Manager and waited approximately 30 seconds for the 2000+ items to load. The pagination displays the first set of results on every page. This also happens when jumping all the way to the last page.

    The file upload button in the file manager does nothing but refresh the file manager.

    My guess is that there are other core files involved. Again thanks for your help. I will wait this one out. Fingers crossed for the release.
