Although EE could do this it i think* would be a lot of work? from what i can gather.

Are there any cheaper alternatives, almost like a plug and play option which would integrate into EE, by integrate i just mean work not into the CP etc.

I would recommend talking with Jae Barclay over at Creat-ee.

He’s well-versed in this sort of thing, and I would suspect he would either know where to go or how to best setup EE for this.

Incidentally, I just finished a webinar on EE, BrilliantRetail and DataGrab. He talked about the “holy grail” of EE being an event sales and management cms (i.e. TicketMaster). My point is he’s conceptualized all of this stuff and likely knows the big picture of how to make something like this work.
