I would like to export data form Wordpress to EE but I am not sure what to use. Because we don’t host Wordpress, the only format available to me for the export is XML.

    Can somebody please help?

    Hi New user,

From what I’ve heard, the best way to go about this is going to be DataGrab. It should do the trick and be worth every penny.

We use EE 1.6.9 so I don’t think that Datagrab will be working right?

    Hi New user,

EE 1.x has a MovableType import function - perhaps you can get your Wordpress installation to export in MT export format?

    Hi there,

we are not using a local version of Wordpress, we did not installed it in our server. We are simply using Wordpress.com.

Would we be able still to use your pluging? if yes can you please explain how?

    Thanks

You’d have to find a way to convert that xml to Movable Type. I don’t see any way of doing this using the tools that come from WordPress.org.

At this point, I’d seriously consider using EE2 so you can use DataGrab. Or you could search to see if there’s anything on Google about it.
