I’ve left the “Name of site’s index page” blank for use with another addon and for removing index.php from URL paths, and if this field is left blank, SafeCracker will not actually submit an entry. Is there some way to make SafeCracker work with this field left blank?

    Thanks!

    adro,

We don’t support he removal of index.php from your URLs but I have never heard of SC not submitting.
What version and build of EE are you using?
    Any other third-party add-ons?
What version of SC are you using?

What are your SC template tags? What does the URL look like that the form sits on?

What happens when you try and summit an entry? Do you get an error message, blank screen?

    Hey John,

    Using version 2.1.3 Build: 20110411
Other addons I’m using are Solspace User and Membrr, but not really in the context of this functionality.
I’m using the latest version of SafeCracker, 2.0.

My SC template tags look like the following and I can confirm it all works fine if “index.php” is in the field for “Name of your site’s index file” (in Admin—> General Configuration). :

    {exp:safecracker id="demoForm" class="bbq" channel="my-channel-name" return="/items/{segment_2}" include_jquery="no" safecracker_head="no" datepicker="no" }

The SC tags are in an embed as well. When I try to submit an entry (or edit one), it successfully takes me to the “return” template, but the entry doesn’t get added or updated.

    Hope that helps, thanks!

    Hi, adro.

You mentioned that you’re removing index.php - but are you using the include or the exclude method?

Ordinarily we don’t support the removal of index.php via .htaccess.

    adro,

Please test with your .htaccess renamed/removed and index.php set as your site’s index page. Does the submission occur properly then?

I had exactly the same problem even with EE 2.2.0 Build 20110622. But I found a way to keep the index.php entered as the “Name of your site’s index page” and still get rid of the index.php from the URL paths. Using the information in the Wiki here: http://expressionengine.com/wiki/Remove_index.php_From_URLs together with a link given on that page, which takes you here: http://kevinthompson.info/blog/completely-remove-index-php-from-expressionengine-urls/

    I hope that helps,
    Paula.

Thanks Paula. Also note that we have an official page on removing index.php now.

Is anyone still encountering this issue here?
