Weblog Entry Notification from Front End

I am trying to setup one of my weblogs to send an email when a new entry is submitted. I have the “Enable recipient list below for weblog entry notification?” set to “Yes”, in the weblog settings and I do receive an email when I create a new entry from within the Admin section…

But, this weblog is setup for users on the front end to submit entries using stand alone entry forms. Whenever an entry is created from the front end I do not receive an email. Is there some other setting that needs to be set or something extra to put within my page template to get this to work?

    Thanks!

    Hi Joe,

I have the “Enable recipient list below for weblog entry notification?” set to “Yes”, in the weblog settings and I do receive an email when I create a new entry from within the Admin section…

Did you also add your email address to Email Address of Notification Recipient(s) ?

What you are doing should work for you.

What version and build of EE are yo uusing?

    Can you share your SAEF?

Yes, I included my email address… the notification works fine when an entry is submitted from the admin side.

The site is using ExpressionEngine Core 1.6.9

I need to break up the code into a couple blocks for this forum…

    Thanks for the help!

    Hi Joe,

I just tested this with a simple SAEF and it works properly for new entries. I see that you are using the logmein 3rd party addon and also the form is nested within an entries tag to populate the entry form with some existing data. Please test this using the SAEF when it is not nested inside a weblog entries tag and without the addon.

    Cheers

    Greg

It seems to be the logmein plugin that is messing things up… but, how can I allow general users (that don’t have an account and are not logged in) to submit the forms, which in-turn creates the weblog entry?  Currently if a user is logged in, it does not work.

Ok… For some reason it will work with logmein, but only when I have it set to login the SuperAdmin that setup EE. If I try it with a user who is anyone else, it will not work… even if that user is also a Super Admin.

Is there a specific user setting that allows/disallows this feature?

I got it working finally… I just had to create a new user and it worked. For some reason the user I was attempting to use wouldn’t work no matter what member group I assigned to it… not sure why.

    Anyways, thanks for helping out!
