Hi,
I’ve just finished installing EE 2.1.3. However, when I login to the control panel, it appears as an unstyled text only list – as if the CSS is missing.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
Welcome to the forums 😊
If the control panel appears without styling, first check to make sure that the themes folder exists and contains a complete cp_themes folder. You may wish to re-upload the themes/cp_themes folder to ensure it is complete.
If all themes files are present, the server that ExpressionEngine is installed on may have PHP running with an open_basedir restriction. In these cases, that restriction prevents PHP script files from accessing anything that resides in directories above its path. The solution is to move the cp_themes folder into the system folder. Do not move the entire themes folder, just the cp_themes folder. ExpressionEngine will automatically discover it, and the Control Panel will then be styled properly.
Let us know if that helps

Hi,
No joy I’m afraid.
I moved the cp_themes folder into the system, refreshed and got the following error message:
An Error Was Encountered
Unable to load the requested file: account/login.php
Not sure whether this is significant, but I’ve installed EE into a sub-folder on my server. When I browsed the HTML source code of the unstyled login page, the location of the CSS it was looking for wasn’t right. It seemed to think it was at root level rather than within the sub-folder. Should I have specified this path including the sub-folder in the installation wizard?
Thanks again for your help.

+++ UPDATE - FIXED! +++
Hi there,
I think my previous post was the issue.
I’ve just tried re-installing EE and running the wizard using Safari rather than Firefox.
Safari pre-filled the form field with the correct file path and I now have a fully styled Control Panel!
Thanks for your assistance.
