I’d like to know if I can implement this with just EE and if with add-ons, which ones? Or if I have to build a custom app that would integrate with the EE members db for their logins.

    - For a professional organization
    - Member’s Profile will include address, phone, email, birthday. They can update.
    - Add any Seminars attended (for continuing education), should be pending until approved by Secretariat
    - Add any Exams taken, should also be pending until approved by Secretariat

Then I’m thinking Member Groups for the Officers, Secretariat and other committees, Regular members.

    Thanks!

    Hi JP Dela Torre,

My approach would be to create a Profile, Seminars and Exams Channel. Then using SafeCracker which comes with EE create a form that a user would goto after being logged in. This form creates a new entry in the Profile channel with its url_title the same as the User’s screen_name. In the users template group you would also have links to an Exam and Seminar template each with their own SC form too.

So basically each user has their member details like username, password etc as default. Then each memebr would have its own entry in the Profile, Seminar, Exams Channel that only they are able to edit. For Seminars and Exams you just need to create new status groups and only allow them to summit closed entries which can be later approved.

The setting up of different memebr groups with different fine grained controls I don’t think will be a problem

Does that help? It would be my personal approach.

Thanks! That’s definitely a fresh way of looking at it.
I will give that a try and hope it works out efficiently so I can use EE for this group.

    JP Dela Torre,

Glad John Henry helped. We also have a Community Help forum for tackling “how-to” type questions. Don’t hesitate to post again!
