    Hi

    I’ve installed EE 1.7.1 and have pasted

    {exp:mailinglist:form list="subscription"}
    Join our Mailing List
    <input type=“text” name=“email” value=”{email}” /></p>
    <input type=“submit” value=“submit” /></p>
    {/exp:mailinglist:form}

    into a page.

    When I add an email address and submit, I am notified that I will have a confirmation e-mail sent to me. But I never get one, and nothing makes it to my email list.

    I have compared settings to several other working EE sites that I have created, that are using the subscription form, but everything seems to be set correctly.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Ted

    Hi Ted,

    Have you properly configured email at Admin > System Preferences > Email Configuration including adding a “Webmaster or site name for auto-generated emails”? Are you able to send single emails from the Communicate tab?

    Cheers

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

    I am able to send single e-mails from the communications tab. Webmaster/sitename and return e-mail address are filled in.

    Some more details:
    Email Protocal: Send mail, I’ve also tried PHP mail
    I’m also running Freeform on the site and my forms are all working correctly.

    Thanks, Ted

    Hi, Ted. If you are able to send successfully to a particular address via the Communicate tab, try adding that email address to your registration form.

    Double check that your mail server isn’t marking those emails as spam. I suspect that may be part of the issue.

    Hi Sue,

    I have tried the same e-mail address used via the Communications Tab and I have checked my spam folder, nothing there. I have also tried several other e-mail addresses without success.
    Thanks, Ted

    Ted, if you send an email to the same email address as the site, does that work?

    I’d create a user called .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) to test with.

    Hi Sue,

    I don’t have access to my client’s e-mail accounts, however I did ask the client to subscribe using their e-mail domain and they did not receive a confirmation message.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks, Ted

    Ted,

    Try switching back to PHP Mail (which is the default) rather than sendmail. Also, if you use, say, the “forgot password?” links on the control panel login page, do you get those emails?

    Hi Brandon,

    I switched back to PHP mail and retyped/reset all my e-mail settings… tried it again and it’s now working.

    Thanks, Ted
