Hello!

I’m having an issue with installations of EE 2.1.3 and higher on my development server.  The issue is also consistent after the sites are deployed.

Thumbnail images aren’t showing after the entry is saved as shown on the attached screenshot.

I suspected it was a permissions issue, because the system is creating those _thumb folders at 755 instead of 777 which is required on my server.  I’m not sure now though, because after I correct the permissions and re-upload the file… the thumbnails still don’t work.

An additional note… the screenshot I’ve attached shows the file field in a Matrix but this issue is also present in file fields that are not within a Matrix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you’re on a development server, are you able to give the 2.1.5 beta a try? File handling has been much improved there, and we’d love your feedback.

I’m using the 2.1.5 on a couple of the sites, but I’m experiencing the issue on those sites as well.

Love the new file manager so far though!

Hi Marc,

I can’t replicate this problem in version 2.1.5 in an ordinary file field. Please make sure that your permissions are correct - it may be that you have to edit the system/expressionengine/config/constants.php file to match what is required on your server.
