    Hey guys,

This afternoon one of my sites has picked up Internal Server Errors when using a particular weblog in Edit or Publish pages. This site has been running fine for at least 6+ months and the client has been entering data without issue. Everything else in the Admin works fine including all the other weblogs. Unfortunately this is an ecommerce site and the weblog affected is the main ‘products’ weblog :(

    I’m running EE Version 1.70.

I’ve spoken to my ISP and they assure me they have not changed any settings on the server in the last 6 months.

I have no idea what to do from here. I’ve read several different posts in the forums but none pertain to my situation. I have included the log files from the server.

    Please can someone help.

    Cheers

Hi, Steve. Looking at your logs it looks like there are some mod_security issues going on. Can you see if your host will turn it off?

    Hey Sue,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately they will not turn off mod_security - I’m on a shared hosting box.

    EDIT
I’ve just checked the site again this morning hoping that it would reset itself as randomly as it broke, but no luck 😊
Now what’s happening is that every tab I click in the CP prompts me to save/open the index.php file rather than opening ‘Templates’, ‘Edit’ etc

Have you come across this before?

    EDIT 2
It seems to be getting progressively worse - I am now getting:

    Service Temporarily Unavailable
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

I’ve check the server status and there is no maintenance.

    Hey guys,

After a pretty full on 24 hours of trying to keep my clients calm the issue has finally been resolved and indeed was a problem with Apache on the server.

So hard now-a-days to find an ISP that as a ‘non-techie’ you can trust to give you the right information when it counts.

    Thanks for your help.

Ouch. Glad that you got this resolved though and thanks for updating us. Please post again if you have further questions or problems.
