I have a EEv1.6.8 site with lots of entries and the exp_entry_versioning table was pretty large. I know there are entries with more than 5 versions. So I changed the “Maximum Number of Revisions” setting from 10 to 5, but I didn’t check the “Delete all existing revision data in this section” because I didn’t want to clear ALL versions, just get rid of the older versions that held more than 5.

Is this possible to get rid of the excess without clearing everything?

    Hi Kyle,

Good question and after a few tests the simple answer is no unfortunately.

You would manually have to clear out the revisions per entry.

You could possibly achieve this with a query that removes every revision after the 5 most recent based on the version_date column and entry id

I can move this thread to the Community Help forum if you wish to explore this more with some of our members?
