Yet again, I’m having problems. Rest assured, I’m certain this is of my own doing (as all my past problems have likely been…)

I’m trying to use the Pages module to create an About page, but when I go to that tab, there’s no Body field for me to enter my text. I have a Pages URI and a Template drop down option, but nothing else.

If I go to Add-Ons > Modules > Pages and select “Create a new page”, I get the option to enter a Title and a URL title, but nothing else.

I have a feeling this has to do with setting up a template to work with, but I’m at a loss. Can anyone point me in the right direction (again)?

    Thanks in advance…

Yeah, look, umm we’re going to have to get you to add a custom field to that channel.

EE2 no longer assumes there is a body field !

    hi helbnt,

Can you confirm that this was the issue? That you just needed to assign custom fields to your Channel?

I guess I’m confused - I thought I could simply use the Pages tab to create a static page, without assigning it to a Channel. Is this not the case? I have a custom field, but I can’t figure out how to add it to my static Pages.

    This topic can be closed.

I bought Ryan Ireland’s episode “Static Pages and the File Manager” from Mijingo and it walked me through step by step. I was really close in my process, I was just missing a couple of steps. Well worth the $6 IMO (thanks Ryan!)

    Thanks for the help guys!
