    Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php

    I have set this up right, so don’t understand why it’s not working.

    $system_path = './my_system_folder';

    BTW, I thought I followed a link to the tech support - feel free to move this post.

    Quick update.  My backend breaks if I set my path like above.  When I just leave it as:

    $system_path = “”;

    the backend works, but my frontend fails.

    ThePixelPusher,

    My backend breaks if I set my path like above.

    What do you mean by ‘break’? Do you mean you get the ‘Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly.’ message or something different. And similarly when your frontend fails what happens?

    Are you moving the system folder anywhere different that in the root folder?
    What hosting are you on?

    Can you try the full server path in there as opposed to a relative one

    John,

    Sorry - yes I mean I get that error.

    My installation is standard, system folder is where it is when the files are transferred across from the downloadable files.

    My hosting is MT (dv)

    I’ll try a full server path when I get back in my office tonight.

    Thanks

    Nick

    Thanks Nick. let us know how you get on. I have see a few cases esp MT where adding the full server path did the trick

    ok, its on of those situations where I don’t understand the logic on why it doesn’t work.

    Like I say with no path my admin area works, but front-end doesn’t work.  Put in a path and both ends don’t work.

    But ok, I’ll try the full server path later.

    Reinstalled the system and it works fine now.

    Initially I changed the path post upload, this time I did it pre-upload.
