ExpressionEngine 2 Code Completion for Dreamweaver

It shows a short demo of using Dreamweaver’s Code completion to add ExpressionEngine’s tags.

    Demo Youtube video :

I have only completed the Channel entries tags, for code completion. The rest will follow soon.

    Let me know you thoughts.

This is looking great Mr Saeed!

Are you able to make the {/exp:channel:entries} tag automatic when the first part of the tag pair is closed with a “}” ?

Very nice, last time I looked at this it had lots of JS behind DW.
Just be aware of channel parameters…there are so many that auto-complete is sort of nag after a while. You might be better of just building a whole {exp:channel:entries}......{/exp:channel:entries} tag with blank parameters in place…at least some main such as disable, sort, category.

Unfortunately, my interest for DW has faded over the years so no real help from my end other than saying congrats.

    Thanks

I have included all the parameters for Channel, user can use the menu slider to select the tag he wants, or if he knows the tag he can start typing the first few characters and the parameter list will keep getting shorter. it works just like the rest of the Code Hints in Dreamweaver.

Yes, that can be done but these code hints does not work in the manner the usual < > tag code hints work

DW allows for < tag to be closed automatically via its Prefence settings, since the tags EE use are { }, it does do the automatic closing.

THe only issue is that the Closing tags automatically appears when the tag is closed }, it does not take into account the opening tag, so we have to select the closing tag manually, for e.g {/exp:channel:entries} or {/exp:comment:entries} as an example.

Has anyone seen any more on this? I think it looks impressive, but I don’t see anything to try it out yet. I would love to try this out. Did you utilize site specific code hinting or custom?

    Regardless… awesome work.

I am not working on it yet, as im working on the other addon ” Dreamweaver Tags”

There was an issue with the above implementation especially when i added the automatic display of the fields upon pressing the space bar, as the fields would appear whenever the spacebar was hit. Even when you did not require the fields dropdown.

Wow—this looks absolutely fantastic. Is there anyway I can get a hold of the beta/alpha/etc.?
