I’m trying to set up frontend admin tools for an MSM site, such as Missing Link.
There’s a note on their support page explaining lack of MSM compatibility:
Does Missing Link support the multi-site manager?
Not currently, as EE does not yet provide a means for addons to change the admin session from one site to another.
Is this true? Is there any way to change the site session to access CP for another site?

I am not aware of how this add-on works but you could try using Cookies only along with a multi-domain login.
Add the following to your config file
$config['multi_login_sites'] = "http://www.example.com/index.php|http://www.sitetwo.com/index.php";Untested as its a third-party add-on we are talking about here but worth trying
