I have noticed that Expression Engine is a lot slower and has some issues with internet explorer. It works perfectly with Firefox. I could not find any specifications about browser requirements so any help is appreciated.

Some of the issues found when using Internet Explorer:
We have a JavaScript error at the bottom
    Slow performance
Most of the time, the save won’t work

Can you tell me if it is fully compatible with Internet Explorer 8.0?

    Hi, NU -

EE is fully compatible with IE 8. If you’re running into issues, the best thing is to get a post in the technical support forum for help.  I don’t see a license on your account, so please email sales with your license number and we can get you set up.

    Thanks!

    Hi, NU -

Thanks for emailing me.  I’ve moved this to technical support now.

Can you let us know the exact JS error that you’re receiving, as well as the version and build of EE that you are running?

Also, When you say “the save won’t work” - can you tell us the exact steps you’re taking and what happens, so that we can try to reproduce?

    Thank you!

    Hi Lisa,

first thank you for creating an account for us for technical support.
    Version of EE v 1.6.9
    1. When using IE we found very slow when we edit a page
    2. The Save issue does not happen all the time but very often. When edit a page, I try to save, it will stay on teh same page with no error but if I navigate away I loose my changes. Unfortunatly this error does not seems to have a constant patern.
    3. JS error is when we edit any pages, the following is the error:

    Webpage error details

    Hi NU—

Can you narrow down if this occurs only when you’re trying to post to a particular weblog? What are the custom fields you’re using in the weblogs where you’re experiencing JS issues?

Try creating a test weblog with one simple textarea custom field, and post several test entries to this weblog. Do you still experience any of the same issues? If this trimmed-down, test weblog consistently works, then it may be one of the custom fields you’re using in the troublesome weblog.

As a general rule with troubleshooting EE, it’s always best to make sure you’re running on the latest version. The latest version for EE1 is v1.7.1, so if you’re still experiencing issues, try upgrading your EE installation to the latest version.

Give these tips a try, and let us know how you’re getting along.
