Hi there, I’m using 1.6.8 and I have upgraded my dev area to 5.3.3

When I did that, all the EE tags stopped rendering: example: http://stg.simplifiedsafety.com/solutions/

I’m using 1.6.8 and upgrading is not really a feasible option.  Is there a code tweak in one fo the core files that I can make to get this working again?

Do you have this all working now as I went to that link and I can’t see anything that looks untoward on there.

What are we looking for exactly?

Have you tried creating a brand new template and literally just placing a single weblog entries tag in it and absolutely nothing else, no styling, nothing except for a simple weblog tag which just spits out the {title} variable just to see what’s going on?

Also everything else that’s on that page, is it all just statically built then? In particular things like the footer, menus etc…

Just asking because if they are coming from weblog tags too then there is definitely something else going on here because if one tag works then all others should do too.

Have you tried deleting all the files (except for the index.html) from the system > cache folder too.

Still nothing.

Was it literally just an upgrade on the PHP side of things and nothing touched within ExpressionEngine itself?

Also just wondering why you can’t upgrade to the latest version? There are loads of good reasons to do so. I’m not sure if 5.3.3 should or shouldn’t work with 1.6.8 so not sure if that’s anything to do with it though. I see from the change log that 1.6.8 was made to be compatible with 5.3.0 but don’t know about other point versions.

Only other thing I can ask is do you have any modules or extensions installed that might be contributing to this at all?

P.S. It might also be helpful to turn on template debugging to see exactly what is going on too.

I visited your test page and it seems to be working now. Can you confirm?

Yeah it was a bug in an old version of playa I had.  I had to remove the “&” from the modify_template function.  Once I did that it was all set.

Aha thought it might be an add-on somehow as it seemed a little strange.
