    Hi all,

I’m trying to install EE2 on a Windows server using IIS7 with FastCGI enabled (and PHP5). For the most part it works fine yet I’m getting a strange error: whenever someone updates content using the backend a 404 error is displayed. It’s not the EE 404 page nor the IIS page. It’s simply a bank page saying ‘404’.

I’ve done a lot of research and I think it may be related to a bug within IIS7 and the FastCGI module that causes the REQUEST_URI variable to be incorrectly set. I’m going to try applying the hotfix now.

Here’s the Microsoft page on it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954946

I was just wondering if anyone else had encountered this issue or had any experience deploying EE2 on IIS7?

    Many thanks!

Hi, Gordon. Welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums. I don’t routinely use Windows servers, so have no direct experience. It does sound like a fix you should implement.
