    Hey all,

I have been merrily using EE 1.68 for some time, for a number of sites, which I mainly maintain and administer.  I would like to allow my users to add content to my site via a custom form, which I understand and have used previously.

The problem I have is that the way in which EE 1.68 handles image uploads would completely fox the user base I have.  They are used to very simple web controls to pick an image, click upload and a thumbnail appears.

This is not how EE 1.68 works, where the actual sting to the image needs to be inserted into a text field, via the image upload dialogues.  This is just too cryptic for non-technical folks.

Please do not say “Upgrade to EE2.x” as that is currently not an option for me, hence why I have posted into the EE1.x forum.

Has anyone got a dead easy and simple solution to this please?  The net result will be that the field that contains the file path will be updated (as a hidden field), but the user experience has to be very very simple.

    Please help if you can!

    Cheers, Mark.

http://www.ngenworks.com/software/ee/ngen-file-field/ is an EE1 addon that gives you a normal file upload field.
