I’ve got a customer who wants a room scheduling tool on their EE site. Basically, authenticated users need to be able to select a room, date, start and end time, then click to reserve the room. The system would reject the reservation if there’s already a reservation in the system for that room during that time.

Any ideas how this can be accomplished in EE? Would it be possible to us a SAEF, then somehow query existing reservations to make sure there isn’t a conflict before I enter this one in?

Haven’t tried this myself but it looks like it could fit the bill:

Thanks for that link, e-man. That only works for date-driven reservations, though—I need something that will work on an hourly basis.

I posted to the forum for that add-on, though, adding my voice in requesting that feature along with some other folks who have done the same.
