I know social media is an excellent way to forge relationships with other people but there are way too many of them now. There’s Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Tumblr… I can go on forever. I used to have Myspace but I closed it and moved on to Facebook. I can’t handle too many social media accounts, I might go crazy.

And them appear solutions to new problems we created… like merging social media accounts…

They are great for eating time… great to spy on others lifes, great now on making a movie and ask for an Oscar… but not so awesome on serious stuff outside advertising for the users.

I don’t think so. Facebook is a simple way to connect with your friends and share your views and experience with your friends.

I think Facebook has one thing other social networks don’t.

The foundation of Facebook is all about getting people interested about the things their inner circle is doing.

Twitter is all about people talking about trending subjects. Linkedin is on a completely different approach and myspace you know, is kinda dead.

People are curious about other people.. 😛

Facebook is a trend just like orkut was, just like boybands was… They grow, lots of people go to it and for a while the people think it is awesome, a revolution and such… But trends, as defined come and go… facebook will, sooner or later fall down just as boybands did, while real classics stay…

Somehow it is overrated, but only because some people make it so. In fact, some people I know would even say I got more “friends” than you, but doesn’t even know who they really are. I don’t think that’s a nice way to network… coz it’s like shooting blank bullets. The idea of sharing information with people you don’t even say hi to in a regular basis is just nonsense.

Facebook is pretty nice for keeping contact to some of my friends, but actually I don’t like it very much. It’s way too big and chaotic - I don’t want to know it when X does this or says that, that’s too much information for my taste.

Is google plus is better than facebook? I haven’t used google plus so far - So I don’t have an idea. I would like to see your comments before I start using it.

Yes, Facebook is totally overrated! Google+ is gonna be nice because it came from Google but it’s gonna become like Facebook one of those days.

Overrated? Perhaps. The main contention I hear from people is that it’s a waste of time, or that it’s a stage for people to try and re-invent or portray themselves as something different. It can certainly go down that road, and turn people off, but I don’t see a problem with just using it to keep in touch with contacts.

think about it: keeping in touch with your contacts is like 5% of Facebook offers, but 99% of the people that says about it says exactly that… Since this option is offered by all the others my conclusion is that Facebook is 95% overrated… Soon people will move from Facebook to a new one (perhaps google+) and say they hate Facebook, then do the same over and over as new trendy social medias appear…
