Hi I am a newbie to EE, so please bear with me 😊.

I have an Accommodation channel and I have a custom field group to enable my client to info on several bedrooms (one at a time).  In my Accommmodation template I list all bedrooms which the client has added via the forms.  I now need to allow my client to add an intro paragraph to this accomodation page - what is the best way to do this?  I see that only one field group can be assigned to a channel so I can’t add another field group for the accommodation intro.  Any advice on ways to do this would be appreciated.

This situation usually suggests you need to diversify or modify your content model.  Either the Accommodations channel needs to change to handle multiple/unlimited/variable bedrooms, or you need an Accommodations/overview channel, or use Categories & a category description.

The best way - albeit involving an add-on and some extra cost - is to use http://pixelandtonic.com/matrix to allow one entry to hold all the bedrooms, and then also the overview paragraph.

This will ease content entry/maintenance by letting you see all the content for one location on one entry screen.

Otherwise how are you grouping the bedrooms together to show them being one one house/apartment/condo?

    Thanks for the assist, Mike.

Lorna70 - would that workflow work for you?

Yes thanks that sounds great - will look at Pixel & Tonic. Perhaps I could have called my channel ‘bedrooms’ and created another for the intro para (maybe called ‘accommodation’) and anything else which doesn’t repeat and then I could use both channels on the Accommodation page (template)?  However, as you said, P&T is the ideal solution for something like this.  I have another question re structure but will post it separately.  Many thanks, Lorna
