I created a site on EE1.x for a client.  I did not use the default member templates.  I recently learned that those templates were getting indexed by Google, so I’ve changed the settings so that the Guest member group could not access member profiles.

But now when I visit http://www.mysite.com/member/1, I see the message “You are not allowed to view member profiles.”  That is not an official 404 page I assume.  Can I change that to redirect to my 404 page?  The {redirect='404'} tag doesn’t seem to work in those templates.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mike,

The easiest way to do this is to change the member trigger word to something very long and very complicated. This site automatically generates strings that might work for you.
