I’m only part way through my first hour of research into what Expression Engine is and what it can do for my customers. Basically, I am a total newbie, so excuse any dumb questions.

Let’s say a customer has a PHP based site - do all pages have to be rewritten in EE?

Does the same apply to a HTML based site?

I am worried about the affect on SEO. Do pages have to be renamed? (most of our customers have around 30 pages per site)

Is it possible to have “fixed” content pages in pure HTML and have one or more of those pages link to pages that are created/handled by EE?

    Hi, GraniteGuy,

You can take just about any .php or .html based site and convert it to work with ExpressionEngine. For instance, you can take a fixed about.html file and convert it to an about_us entry and have it appear to come from a file called about.html using the Pages module. You’d create 30 entries and then slowly replace the real *.html file with the virtual one.

Once you do this, it becomes easier.

    Does that help?
