A client has requested that they be able to turn off the ability to PM for all users on a forum. I have turned off the PM ability for users under the Member Group > Private Messaging Privileges but I suspect this makes no difference to the Forums.
Could someone please confirm if it’s at all possible, or that within the forums, it’s a user by user preference setting.

Hi, Brendan. When you disable PM messaging privileges, you still need to edit the forum code to account for that.
The link still shows, but doesn’t go anywhere. You’d need to edit the template that controls that part of the forum display.

OK, it sort of helps. But was hoping for just a switch I had missed in the Forum Global Preferences somewhere to just turn PM functionality completely off.

Unfortunately that’s not there. But that would make a great feature request for EE2.x.
