After 4 months of desiging and coding I finally launched my first major CI-based website. The site is called Fixilink. I’m trying to build a database of computer problems and fixes rather than questions and answers to avoid duplicate entries. I’m focusing on adding CI problems at the moment as that’s an area I know something about. I’d really appreciate anyone who’s interested in adding issues and fixes to the database.

P.s. thanks to anyone in the forums who helped with any of the coding issues I had.

Forgot to mention, any feedback welcome. Would you use the site, wouldn’t you? If not why not?

Nice site. I’ve bookmarked it for my reference.  Two points, CodeIgniter is one word, which would help in search results, and how about adding a category which is more specific to CI, such as ‘Coding Frameworks” or something similar?

Thanks for the idea about having a Coding frameworks category, I added it. I actually used Code Igniter, CodeIgniter and CI in a lot of descriptions in case anyone typed it in wrong, that way I would get those hits from Google. But no doubt more people would probably type it out right. Thanks for registering.

No problem.  RE the use of CodeIgniter as a search term, I was referring to your internal search tool which only returned two hits on “codeigniter” although there were many more items in your database which should have been returned (your spelling: “code igniter” or CI).  Now is the time to set a standard for the use of “CodeIgniter”, before your database grows so large that it will be a royal pain to correct.

I understand using multiple possible spellings for SEO purposes in the meta description and keywords, but even Ellislab themselves only offer one spelling of CodeIgniter on their pages…

IC, yes the search needs some improvements at the moment but does find some things. Perhaps I will correct it but in any case it’s user-submitted so it’s up to the users how they choose to spell things.
